Entry requirements

  • The official e-Visa portal allows US citizens to apply prior to travel. A single-entry tourist visa costs $25 USD, and a multiple-entry visa costs $60 USD.
  • Alternatively, US citizens can purchase a visa on arrival at Egyptian airports at the bank kiosks before immigration. Payment must be made in cash (USD, EUR, or GBP).

Standard tourist visa is valid for stays up to 30 days.

Health — Yellow fever

A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required if you are arriving from, or have transited for more than 12 hours through, a country with a risk of yellow fever transmission.

If obtaining the visa on arrival, exact change in USD is highly recommended to speed up the process.
