Entry requirements
- All US citizens visiting Uganda for tourism must apply for an e-Visa through the official Government of Uganda portal (visas.immigration.go.ug).
- The single-entry tourist visa fee is $50 USD. Processing typically takes 2-3 business days.
- Visas are NOT issued on arrival. You must present the approved e-Visa printout to immigration officers.
Stay
The standard tourist e-Visa allows a stay of up to 3 months.
Passport
Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Uganda.
Health — Yellow fever
A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is MANDATORY for all travelers over 9 months of age entering this country. You must present the original 'yellow card' upon arrival.
If you plan to visit Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda, consider applying for the East Africa Tourist Visa ($100 USD) on the portal instead.
